No charges filed against police officer who shot Springfield man

No charges will be filed by the Sangamon County state's attorney against a Springfield police officer involved in a June 28 shooting at a residence in the 3500 block of Carnoustie Drive near Lake Springfield.Illinois State Police conducted an investigation and presented its findings to the state's attorney's office for review.State’s Attorney Dan Wright said Wednesday that Officer Charles Peters was “justified in using force likely to cause death or great bodily harm”
